JAMIROQUAI RETURNS PACKING DYNAMITE

Four years after the release of multi-platinum seller A Funk Odyssey, space cowboys Jamiroquai have returned armed with DYNAMITE , their highly anticipated sixth studio album. Co-produced by frontman Jay Kay and Mike Spencer, the big, bouncy and high octane album hits stores on September 20th.

The fireworks start with combustible lead single "Feels Just Like It Should," which puts Jamiroquai's organic funk through a digital grinder, with Kay's own voice providing the fuzzy bassline. "The groove in that song is absolutely filthy," says Kay. "If you haven't released an album in four years, you want to return with an impact. This song says 'I'm back with a vengeance.'"

Epic Records will release the album in the DualDisc format, complete with DVD footage featuring the eye-popping "Feels Just Like It Should" video, directed by Joseph Kahn (U2, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem), along with a "making-of-the-video" documentary and a collection of various eye and ear candy.

DYNAMITE is Jamiroquai's most diverse-sounding disc to date, featuring everything from funk-driven rock ("Black Devil Car") to laid-back summer sizzlers ("Seven Days in Sunny June"). Fittingly, the multi-flavored album was written and recorded in a variety of locales, including Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, Scotland, New York, Los Angeles and Kay's own studio in Buckinghamshire, England. Jamiroquai will spend the summer touring Europe before coming to the States later in the year.

Since Jay Kay's emergence from London's acid jazz underworld in 1992, Jamiroquai has sold more than 20 million albums, racked up a Grammy and five MTV Awards, recorded a handful of top ten hits, toured the planet several times over and garnered international acclaim.

Jamiroquai's impact on both music and pop culture continues to grow, as evidenced by the recent inclusion of 1999's No. 1 dance hit, "Canned Heat," in the mega-popular cult hit, Napoleon Dynamite. The scene in which the film's star, Jon Heder, dances to the song recently won an MTV Movie Award for "Best Action Sequence."
